Inpatient behavioral health
Lehigh Valley Hospital–Muhlenberg offers inpatient behavioral health services in the Behavioral Health Science Center at Lehigh Valley Hospital–Muhlenberg, these programs provide short-term crisis stabilization for adults or adolescents (ages 12-18), until they can safely receive care in an outpatient setting. If you or someone you know has an emergency or mental health crisis, call 911 or visit your nearest emergency room.
Lehigh Valley Hospital–Schuylkill also offers inpatient behavioral health services at its South Jackson Street and East Norwegian Street locations for adults, seniors and adolescents.

Lehigh Valley Hospital–Pocono offers inpatient behavioral health services on the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Pocono campus. This program provide short-term crises stabilization for adults.
Outpatient behavioral health group practices
We provide short-term services at Lehigh Valley Hospital–Muhlenberg and Lehigh Valley Hospital–Cedar Crest, including individual, couples, family and group therapy, and when indicated, medication management to children, adolescents, adults and older adults. Problems addressed include depression, anxiety, marital and family problems, difficulty coping with physical illness and grief issues. Our clinicians include board-certified child and adolescent and adult psychiatrists, along with psychologists, master’s-level therapists, psychiatric nurses and other clinicians.

Outpatient mental health clinics
We provide psychiatric assessment and treatment to adults (ages 18 and above) at Lehigh Valley Hospital–Muhlenberg and Lehigh Valley Hospital–17th Street. Staffed by board-certified psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, psychiatric nurses, licensed social workers and other clinicians, the programs offer comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, individual, family and group therapy, and medication management. These programs are funded in part under a contract with the County of Lehigh and the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare.

Partial programs
Partial programs for adolescents (ages 12-18) and adults offer many of the same services provided by inpatient care, but do so in a schedule allowing a daily return home for people who can be cared for safely in an ambulatory setting. These programs are available at Lehigh Valley Hospital–Muhlenberg and Lehigh Valley Hospital–17th Street. Treatment is typically provided six hours per day, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday – Friday, as an alternative to 24-hour hospitalization that might disrupt home life and other support systems.
