Weight loss isn't just one victory. There are small victories throughout the process. Whether it's being able to chase around your kids or reducing your daily medications, LVHN is here to help you reach your weight-loss goals and live life better than before.
Take the Next Step to a Healthier You
Weight loss is about more than appearances. At its core, it’s about living healthier, longer and better.
With more than 1,100 bariatric surgeries performed each year, LVHN is the region’s leader in bariatric surgery. Take the next step that’s right for you.
Weight-loss surgery can improve or resolve* conditions such as:
- Type 2 diabetes (most patients are off medication before leaving the hospital)
- High blood pressure
- Obstructive sleep apnea
- High cholesterol
*Each person’s journey is unique. Results may vary from person to person.
You must meet certain qualifications in order to be a weight-loss surgery candidate:
- Are you 16 years of age or older?
- Is your body mass index (BMI) 40 or above?
- If your BMI is between 35 and 40, you may be a candidate for surgery if you have a serious health condition such as high blood pressure, diabetes or obstructive sleep apnea.
You can ask our surgeons and nurse navigator about BMI and other qualifications for surgery at an upcoming free info event.
Our multidisciplinary care team includes patient navigators, certified registered nurse practitioners (CRNP), physician assistants (PA), weight-loss surgeons, obesity medicine physicians, registered dietitians (RD), exercise physiologists and behavioral health specialists (BHS). During the pre- and post-surgery program, the care team will work with you to adopt a healthy lifestyle to maintain long-term health success. Our team includes seven weight-loss surgeons: Richard Boorse, MD, Daniel Harrison, DO, Paul Cesanek, MD, Guillermo Garcia, MD (who is fluent in Spanish), Michael Mahoney, DO, and Nicolas Teleo, MD.
LVHN accepts most insurance plans. Your insurance also determines the length of your pre-surgery education program. Learn specific questions to ask your insurer when you attend a free info event.
Our metabolic procedures include sleeve gastrectomy and gastric bypass. Learn details about each procedure and feel free to ask questions at our free information events.
