Located in northeastern Pennsylvania, Carbon County boasts charming towns and mountainous landscape.
Overview
Carbon County lies in the heart of Pennsylvania’s coal region. The eastern and northeastern sections of the county are considered part of the Opens in new tab Pocono Mountains. The county includes the Opens in new tab historic town of Jim Thorpe, known as the “Switzerland of America,” as well as dozens of towns and boroughs. Carbon County is home to 65,000 residents and is the future site of Lehigh Valley Hospital (LVH)–Carbon, a new health campus slated to open in 2022.
LVHN ExpressCARE–Palmerton provides convenient, no-appointment access to care for residents in Carbon County. Some residents in the northern regions of Carbon County may also utilize LVH–Hazleton for their health care needs. Lehigh Valley Physician Group (LVPG) has several locations in Carbon County including Lehighton, Weatherly and Albrightsville.

Opens in new tab Penn’s Peak, the Lehigh Valley and Pocono Mountains premier entertainment venue, is located in historic Jim Thorpe. The entertainment venue Opens in new tab overlooks Beltzville Lake and hosts weddings, special events and concerts throughout the year.
