Sarcoma is a cancer of the connective or supportive tissue (bone, cartilage, fat, muscle, blood vessels) and soft tissue. At Lehigh Valley Health Network’s cancer centers at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest and Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg, you’ll have the advantages of the latest advances in treatment. An orthopedic oncologist and surgical oncologist will be part of your care team. For soft tissue adult sarcoma, a medical oncologist also may be included. The approach to care for adult sarcoma is very different than for sarcoma in children.
The Lehigh Valley Cancer Institute is a member of the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Alliance, which gives you access to groundbreaking, lifesaving cancer care and breakthrough clinical research right here in the Lehigh Valley. LVHN patients have access to MSK clinical trials. This accelerates the data-collection process so investigational treatments can be approved faster and become available to more patients.
