About
Philosophy of care
I believe that the core of providing care centers around the ability to be heard and understood. I have found that by doctor and patient working together and having conversations creates a more engaging and collaborative process of addressing problems.
Why I entered medicine
I have wanted to be a doctor since I was a young child. I have several areas of interest in different medical fields, however I found that working with people with psychiatric issues was especially rewarding and unlike any other field. I have enjoyed getting to know my patients over time.
Community involvement
I have had a long history of volunteering, starting from before high school. One thing I enjoyed was in college, I volunteered for Habitat for Humanity for three years and even lead some builds. My volunteering culminated in my involvement twice a week in low income and a free clinic associated with a homeless shelter.
Personal interests
I have enjoyed reading, photography, and traveling. I have occasional episodes of creative writing. I enjoy working with my hands and am a beginning woodworker. I am currently buying lumber to make some basic wooden furniture pieces for my home.
