About

Philosophy of care

My philosophy is to treat every patient as if a member of my family. I encourage patients to have an active role in their health to make the biggest impression for long-term success. I am also a huge advocate for improvement of health literacy for patients to understand why we approach health concerns in a certain way and what questions they should be asking to ensure they understand all aspects of their health.

Why I entered medicine

I was in and out of the hospital a lot as a child. I had multiple surgeries and illnesses. When I was very young, the world of medicine terrified me. But as I got older, I became more interested in all the things happening around me. I remembered what it felt like to feel better, and I wanted to do that for other people. My previous life experiences have been integral in my ability to relate to my patients and give them reassurance about certain situations, and that is invaluable.

Community involvement

I am involved in my church.

Personal interests

Spending time with my family fishing, kayaking, traveling to the beach, baking and playing with our labradoodle, CoCo.
