About

Philosophy of care

I want to help you be your own advocate and become familiar with what is normal and abnormal in your own body. My goal is connecting with and speaking to you as I would my own family. I aim to arm each patient with information to help them understand their goals and/or conditions.

Why I entered medicine

I endured a spinal cord injury at age 18 that required a prolonged hospital stay. Without my care team, I could have been left in a cold hospital room – scared of the future and what it holds. Instead, I was made to feel comfortable and involved in my own healing process. My physician assistant especially inspired me to get into the medical field with the time and care she put into working with me and helping me regain strength and health. I have recovered fully from my injury and I attribute that to the dedication and altruism of my team of health care professionals.

Community involvement

While attending Florida Gulf Coast University, I participated in community outreach events for Prevent Child Abuse America, The Children's Advocacy Center and Girl Scouts of America. Before that, I volunteered at my local children’s library, putting on puppet shows and helping kids pick books to read to their families. I have a strong desire to provide for the underserved. I am looking for women’s outreach programs for volunteer opportunities.

Personal interests

My passions have always revolved around my creativity – painting, sewing and doing any craft imaginable. I also like antiquing, and love giving old furniture or other items a new life with fresh paint and style.
