About
Philosophy of care
I believe your optimal treatment can be determined by decision-making discussions between me and you. What works for one patient may not for another, but together we will arrive at what works for you at this moment in your life. Simply having me as your doctor to educate you on your options and listen to your concerns may provide the springboard you need to determine your best course of medical care. Whatever it is, I am there for you!
Why I entered medicine
I truly love helping people. My interest in obstetrics and gynecology dates to having my first child. I wouldn’t become a doctor for another 12 years, but I clearly remember the feeling of our first son being born and then placed on my chest. I watched his eyes opening, meeting mine for the first time – all in slow motion; it is a love that cannot be explained easily in words. I remember how grateful I was for my doctor and the nurses who helped me with seemingly small things that went a long way. Their encouraging words have stayed with me. Today it’s an honor to be there for you and your family during this special time in your life. Such moments reveal time and time again that humanity truly exists in all of us and really matters.
Community involvement
I volunteer for our daughter’s school – helping in the library is my favorite. It is a different kind of challenge than I am used to and requires me to switch gears.
Personal interests
When not at work I am with the family, often in the garden moving plants around, investigating unusual insects and taking care of our chickens. We can’t have traditional pets, so we have super-cute hens and an adorable juvenile bearded dragon, who recently ate one of those famous 17-year cicadas.
