About

Philosophy of care

My philosophy is simple: Treat others the way you want to be treated! It's important to look at the person in front of you like it was you as a parent, a grandparent, a child, etc. – and treat them as you would want to be treated. Be kind, true and fair.

Why I entered medicine

My mom is my inspiration and why I entered medicine. She's been a nurse 40 years and is still as spunky as when she started! I knew at a young age the impact she had on patients and people. Mom went above and beyond to help patients and people in general. I inherited that innate behavior to be a force when it comes to helping others. I feel the same when someone compliments my children's accomplishments as I do whenever people tell me stories about how great a nurse and person my mom is. I am proud to have her as my inspiration for medicine and in life.

Personal interests

I love cooking and being in the kitchen. I enjoy doing yard work and gardening, experimenting to see which plants do well. The groundhog and rabbits seem to like what I plant no matter what! Days I can relax and lay in the sun are few and far between; I have five children, all boys. But I sure do enjoy "me time" when I get it! My kids and family are my world. My husband and I make a great team raising our kids. We call it controlled chaos, and I wouldn't change a thing.
