About
Philosophy of care
My philosophy of care is rooted in the belief that you the patient are more than just what we see at face value, what we read in a chart, or what we examine in one visit. To treat a diagnosis or a concern, we need to examine the whole person. Medicine shouldn't be viewed as different silos of specialties, instead we should be viewing the patient as a whole with fluidity, harmony and communication.
Why I entered medicine
I think a lot of health care providers began with a spark of compassion mixed with a love of science and a sprinkle of empathy. For me, caring for my aunt on hospice was really the catalyst for my career. It led to the pursuit of many great adventures, from international hospice research to a love of geriatrics. To be able to be a source of comfort for people going through what may be the scariest and most vulnerable part of their lives – heading to the hospital or dealing with a new diagnosis – is truly humbling and a privilege.
Community involvement
I’m hoping to find new community involvement since moving to the Lehigh Valley. I’m always open to suggestions!
Personal interests
I love spending free time with my husband and our two young children. We are big into traveling, boating and skiing. We spend a lot of time visiting my family in Boston.
