About

Philosophy of care

As a hospitalist I believe in a patient-centric approach to clinical care to optimize outcomes and empower patients to achieve their health goals. Collaborating closely with other care specialists, including nurses and consultants, I work with my patients on a care plan aligned with their goals. My special interests include vasculopathy, hypertension and cardiovascular disease.

Why I entered medicine

I am fascinated by the art of medicine and its dynamic intricacies. That plus my passion to contribute to the lives of others as part of a team catalyzed my career in hospital medicine. It is an absolute honor and privilege to serve patients as a partner in their journey to achieving their health care goals.

Community involvement

I am an active member of the Wayne State University School of Medicine (my alma mater) Alumni Association Board of Governors. Additionally, I enjoy coaching community and travel basketball teams in our hometown. Most recently, my oldest son became an American Heart Association All-Star to support cardiovascular health in pediatric patients and I'm extremely proud to be a partner in his efforts.

Personal interests

I enjoy spending quality time with my husband and two sons. We can often be found enjoying local parks, exploring natural trails by bicycle and on foot, and cheering on our favorite college and professional sports teams.
