About
Philosophy of care
My philosophy of care is to have a team approach, working collaboratively with parents and the children to develop plans of care.
Why I entered medicine
I enjoy working with children and helping people.
Community involvement
I became involved with the Eastern PA Down Syndrome Center through ABC Family Pediatricians. I was caring for several families with children who have Down syndrome, and two mothers approached me about starting a center. This was during the time we were building the Health Center at Trexlertown, and I thought, what a great place to put it. The Down Syndrome Parent Network was the driving force for the center, and I coordinated getting it up and running. The group then asked me if I would like to participate, and so I volunteer at the center two mornings a month. I provide evaluation and counseling to children and their families, make sure social issues are addressed and that they know of resources they are entitled to. Interested parents can learn more at epdsc.org.
Personal interests
I play basketball and exercise a fair amount. I'm married to Mary Stahl (another LVPG pediatrician), and we have three adult children.
