About

Philosophy of care

Food and nutrition are the first line of defense in preventing and managing chronic disease, but also a form of self-expression, a way to celebrate important moments. We all have a relationship to the food we eat and individual influences for why we do so. So, when dealing with patients on such a personal matter, it is important to me to treat each with empathy and dignity. I meet you where you are and guide you toward your health goals.

Why I entered medicine

During my adolescence, my father was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. My mom, a nurse, did her best to explain what was happening. Food had always been central to our family, and when my dad went on a special diet I noticed. They had him restrict carbohydrates and then, right before treatment, eat a concentrated sweet in hopes the chemo would better target his cancer. Unfortunately, his illness was too advanced, and he lost his battle six months later. But this had a profound impact on me and ultimately led me down a path of healing and lessening the impact of chronic disease in our community. Today I improve health outcomes one family at a time.

Community involvement

I am a member of Lehigh Valley Dietetic Association and a preceptor for local colleges, helping to educate future generations of dietitians.

Personal interests

I enjoy bike riding, gardening, pottery, photography and cooking in my spare time.
