Philosophy of care

My philosophy is to not only treat my patients, but to guide them to help themselves. I also strive to treat each individual with the same dignity and respect as I would treat my own family.

Why I entered medicine

I have always had a passion for medicine, and I enjoy the opportunity to have relationships with my patients within the community. I find medicine to be both rewarding and challenging, as every day is different and every individual has specific needs. Through medicine I can help heal the body and the mind not only with medication, but with education and awareness. I entered medicine to know that at the end of the day, I have hopefully made a difference in someone's life and well-being. I chose sports medicine as a specialty because I understand the importance of fitness in a person's overall health. I feel I can relate to active individuals because I myself was a college athlete and continue to maintain my health through exercise. Since almost 90 percent of sports injuries do not require surgical intervention, I wanted to have a career that would allow me to give my patients a variety of treatment options.

Community involvement

I work with students and athletes at Muhlenberg College and Cedar Crest College.

Personal interests

My personal interests include spending time with my family and playing outside with my kids. I make exercise a priority through weight training and soccer leagues. I enjoy traveling and learning different cultures.
