About
Philosophy of care
I stress the importance of communication between my patients, their family members and me. Whether I am with a patient in the office or at the bedside, I spend as much time as is necessary to ensure all their questions are answered. It’s important that patients and families know what to expect before, during and after surgery.
Why I entered medicine
When I was growing up, I had the utmost respect for our family physician. When I was in high school, I joined a program that allowed students to rotate through different departments in a local hospital. It gave me the rare opportunity as a high school student to witness an open-heart procedure during the surgery rotation. That’s when surgery piqued my interest. I realized surgery was the area of medicine that allows people to see almost immediate symptom relief. That appealed to me.
Personal interests
I have three children. I enjoy spending my free time with them reading, playing and just watching them grow up.
