About

Philosophy of care

I believe in treating you in the same manner I would want to be treated. When I am treating a patient, I think about how I would want them to be taken care of if they were someone in my life that I loved, like a parent, grandparent, sister or brother. I would want them to have the highest level of medical care available and to be treated with integrity and empathy.

I feel it is very important to keep you and your family educated and involved, and to help you in making clear decisions. I believe we all have to work together to be the most effective patient care team, and you and your family are integral to that success.

Why I entered medicine

I grew up in a medical family, and spent my childhood and high school years involved in medical overseas relief work. The experience of traveling with my parents and bringing home ill children to our home for medical/surgical treatment in the U.S. was a great gift. It instilled in me a desire to give back and a passion to develop a skill set that would allow me to do so.

Community involvement

Charity involvement has been a part of my life since childhood. It is not that I originally chose it, but my parents did. I was fortunate to be able to travel with my parents during grade school and high school, doing medical relief work, even if my role was to carry boxes and unload containers. I soon realized the gift of hope you can be for others just by your presence.

My desire to continue my charity involvement continued in college with Habitat for Humanity in the U.S. and abroad, and then with Cross Cultural Solutions in Guatemala and Costa Rica. In graduate school, I became involved in community outreach programs in the Allentown School District.

Personal interests

I love the outdoors and my favorite things to do are fishing, golf and snowboarding. I love the mountains and visit the Adirondacks often.
