About

Philosophy of care

I believe in treating people with care, compassion, competence and sometimes a little humor. I believe that people should leave the emergency department happy that they came for care.

Why I entered medicine

As a volunteer emergency medicine technician (EMT) in high school, I became very interested in emergency medicine. It took some time and exploration in my life to gain the confidence needed to fully apply myself, but those life experiences enrich my ability to relate and care for a diverse range of people. I love what I do, and I have never looked back.

Community involvement

I have visited schools for reading nights as a local professional, inner city schools as a resident and more recently, local preschools to talk about home safety and what to do in an emergency.

Personal interests

I spend most of my spare time with my family. I also enjoy doing carpentry in my house, bike riding and playing in my "old man" softball league.
