About
Philosophy of care
Orthopedic trauma is unique in that my relationship with patients usually begins at a very difficult point in one’s life following an unexpected injury. So I do my best to relieve the patient’s anxiety and make it clear I am going to treat them to the best of my abilities. I will delve into your medical history, clearly explain your injury and discuss treatment options. We will continue this relationship in the post-operative period and discuss rehabilitation and expectations.
Why I entered medicine
Anatomy and sports injuries (a few of my own) sparked my interest in medicine. But the biggest reason I got into the field was my mother’s uterine cancer diagnosis and cure. Through this difficult time, I saw the impact genuine and passionate health care providers had on my mother and my family, and knew I wanted to do the same. My mother’s surgeon effectively cured her with one surgical procedure. Today I am privileged to help patients recover from life-altering orthopedic injuries.
Community involvement
When I was at Rutgers, the orthopedic department there built a house in Newark through Habitat for Humanity. I hope to provide similar assistance in the Lehigh Valley. I also enjoy educational opportunities. During COVID, I created an online lecture series used by more than 500 orthopedic students nationally. I plan to continue to mentor students interested in orthopedic surgery at LVHN.
Personal interests
I enjoy sports, specifically playing golf and snowboarding. I also enjoy cooking and baking, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
