About
Philosophy of care
My philosophy of care is based on knowledge and education. I believe every patient not only deserves to know what is going on with their care, but also completely understand their disease. Educating my patients to help them understand what is going on in their own bodies will help relieve their anxiety and improve their care and outcome. I also believe in teamwork as a practitioner and like to believe that I am a part of each of my patients’ teams, and that we can work together to optimize their care and health.
Why I entered medicine
I entered medicine because helping people has always been something that gave me joy. As I grew up and entered college, I came to the realization that pursuing a career in medicine allows me to continue helping people and continue my passion for education and lifelong learning.
Community involvement
I get out into the community and volunteer when I can.
Personal interests
I enjoy spending time outdoors with my husband and son. We all enjoy hiking, biking, kayaking, fishing, ATV riding and anything else that involves being outside. I also love animals and if you ask my husband, I have quite the zoo at my home: two dogs, one cat, one tortoise, lots of fish, some chickens and a lizard.
