Philosophy of care

My approach to care is client-centered and multidisciplinary. I try to engage clients in the decision-making process to choose a treatment approach that is supported by current guidelines and also takes into account their preferences and lifestyle. I like to get to know clients and develop a personal relationship with them. I learned this from my physician and advanced practice clinician (AP-C) colleagues. I truly enjoy and feel privileged to be of service to people in this profession.

Why I entered medicine

I have always been interested in the sciences. I enjoy customer service and highly value caregiving. I feel like we as health care providers are able to make a real difference in people's lives and form meaningful relationships. It's a great fit for me. I have family members in the profession and always enjoyed hearing stories about their experiences. My grandmother was diagnosed with leukemia when I was a young child, and her health care providers were like superheroes to me. They had the power to help her, make her feel better and offer her comfort. I wanted the ability to do so for others.

Personal interests

I enjoy music, reading and the arts. I enjoy spending time with my family and my two young daughters.
