About
Philosophy of care
Medical treatment must be a collaboration between patient and provider. It is important to me to make sure you are included in every treatment decision to ensure it’s in line with your beliefs, lifestyle and treatment goals. It’s paramount you understand why a specific treatment is being suggested and what outcomes are expected.
Why I entered medicine
I have always been fascinated by the complexity of the human body and medicine's constantly advancing ability to treat myriad diseases and disorders. Our knowledge and understanding of how the body works is always evolving, and medicine has provided me with a constant challenge to expand my treatment options to ensure each patient’s best quality of life.
Community involvement
I have enjoyed sharing my medical knowledge throughout my career, teaching everything from community organization first aid/CPR courses to more advanced provider-level prehospital, graduate and medical students.
Personal interests
Remaining involved in medical research has always been an integral part of my career. My interests have centered mainly around the various causes of hypertension, how the body responds to chronically elevated blood pressure and how to correct those conditions.
