About

Philosophy of care

Yes, I am a certified registered nurse anesthetist, but most importantly, I am a nurse. As I leave my home every day to go to the hospital, I reflect on what I can do to make a difference. Of course I bring my education and training, but I know I can do a little more: a warm blanket, a joke, or just taking time to listen can change a patient’s entire experience. The old golden rule serves me well every day: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

Why I entered medicine

As the oldest of six children, I had a built-in sense of responsibility at an early age. When it came time for a career choice, nursing was number one on my list. Even as a young RN, I knew there were endless possibilities in this field. Floor nursing led to critical care and that led to my interest in anesthesia. The rest is history; this is where I have been the last 26 years.

Community involvement

My passion is giving to our local food banks because food insecurity should not be an issue in this country. I have volunteered at the Commission on Economic Opportunity and at local food pantries. I am also a fur parent to our two doggie rescues, Mo and Augie. I support the SPCA and One Life to Live Animal Rescue in Scranton.

Personal interests

As a new grandmother, I love to spend time with my grandson! I am also fortunate enough to have an 86-year-old mother who still brings the family together on the weekends. My husband and I also enjoy camping and bike riding. Family first!
