My philosophy of care is to be compassionate, understanding and empathetic to your needs at all times. A vital element of that is forming a relationship with you and being a good listener. I believe preventative medicine is the best medicine. I consider it crucial to follow evidence-based medicine guidelines for treatment and testing to provide you with the best outcome. I look forward to working with you on a healthy lifestyle.

My interest in studying medicine started very young. As my peers were busy reading chapter books, I studied mom’s nursing books. I was fascinated by medicine and had in her a great role model. I pursued a career related to cardiac surgery at East Stroudsburg University until ovarian cancer suddenly took my mother and school was put on hold. When I returning to college I recalled Mom telling me I would make a good nurse because I am able to empathize and am a good advocate. So I entered nursing school and never looked back. I have thoroughly enjoyed my career at the bedside of open-heart surgical and critical-care patients. Now I look forward to a new career as a nurse practitioner and fulfilling my dream of being a provider.

With LVHN colleagues I have provided first aid at Musikfest, administered free flu shots and helped at Camp Red Jacket, a three-day camp that teaches children with type 1 diabetes to manage the condition. My daughter has type 1 diabetes.

I love to travel. This summer we used an RV and camped, something my kids really enjoy. We went kayaking, mountain biking and hiking. I also love to teach and work as an adjunct at DeSales University teaching undergraduate nurses. The beach is our second home. We love staying in the Outer Banks of North Carolina for family downtime.
