About
Philosophy of care
I believe patients deserve timely access to expert care, clear communication and compassionate support. Having performed more than 5,000 robotic surgical procedures, I have dedicated my career to advancing minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, but also have experience with traditional open surgical approaches. As one of the highest-volume robotic gynecologic surgeons in the U.S., I have experience managing both routine and complex conditions. While robotic surgery offers important advantages for many patients, the best treatment plan is the one meeting your needs and circumstances.
Why I entered medicine
Growing up in a family of physicians, I was inspired by the dedication and compassion my parents demonstrated in caring for their patients. My mother, in particular, provided gynecologic care, and witnessing the impact she had on women’s lives steered me toward OB-GYN. During my training, I discovered a passion for gynecologic oncology, which combines complex surgery, cancer care and long-term patient relationships. Helping women navigate a cancer diagnosis and return to healthy, productive lives remains one of the most rewarding aspects of my profession.
Community involvement
I am committed to improving access to high-quality cancer care throughout our community. I actively participate in the education and mentorship of medical students, residents, fellows and young physicians. I believe developing the next generation of healthcare professionals is an important responsibility.
Personal interests
I enjoy time with my wife of 29 years, our wonderful children and our two German Shepherds. I am an avid tennis enthusiast. I enjoy reading, tracking current events and following advances in technology and innovation. My Christian faith helps guide my values of compassion, service and respect for others. I enjoy church activities.
