About
Philosophy of care
My philosophy of care as a child and adolescent psychiatrist centers on the belief that every young individual deserves compassionate, holistic and individualized mental health support. Recognizing that emotional well-being is integral to overall development, I am committed to fostering a safe, non-judgmental space where trust can flourish. I follow a biopsychosocial model in understanding individually unique circumstances and my approach combines evidence-based interventions with active listening, respect and collaboration with both patients and their families.
Why I entered medicine
Helping others has been a lifelong passion, and my journey in medicine allows me to give the invaluable treasure of health. As a child and adolescent psychiatrist, I find it a privilege and a service to provide care. My psychiatry training has honed my understanding of patients and the myriad factors affecting their mental well-being. This experience is a source of deep gratitude as it enables me to forge meaningful connections with my patients and craft tailor-made, patient-centric treatment plans that honor their unique needs and aspirations.
Community involvement
I’ve been deeply involved over the past decade in addressing mental health needs, especially involving child and adolescent psychiatry, through treating, teaching and volunteering at medical, educational and outreach organizations in New York and Virginia.
Personal interests
My personal interests include child development, cultural sensitivity, education, stress management, advocacy, research and child-focused activities.
