About

Philosophy of care

My mission is to provide safe, competent and culturally sensitive anesthesia care to you and your loved ones. I take my job as your anesthesia provider very seriously and will always provide you with the same quality care I would provide to my own family. Surgery can be a stressful and scary experience for everyone involved. Compassion, comfort and providing you with the time and knowledge necessary to make informed decisions about your care are my top priorities. My goal is that you will go into your procedure feeling informed about your anesthetic and confident that you or your loved one will be getting the highest quality care from start to finish.

Why I entered medicine

My mom and dad were both in the medical field and I grew up aspiring to be just like them. I knew from a young age that I wanted to enter the medical field. I ultimately decided to become a critical care nurse where I provided care for people during what was often a dark time in their life. I made it my mission to do whatever I could to bring a little bit of light and hope into my patients' lives while they were under my care. I became interested in anesthesia during my years working in the neuroscience intensive care unit at Lehigh Valley Hospital–Cedar Crest. I was so in awe of the confidence, knowledge and skills that the CRNAs had and I wanted to be able to provide that kind of care and expertise to my patients as well. Once I did some shadowing days in the operating room, I was sure this was the path I was meant to follow. Every day in anesthesia I learn something new and every day I become more and more passionate about this amazing profession.

Community involvement

I try to give back to my community in whatever way I can. Some of my recent community service has included volunteering for the Keystone Mission, participating in my hometown flu shot clinic and donating to local food pantries and women's shelters. Random acts of kindness are something I try to practice on a regular basis.

Personal interests

When I am not working, I enjoy spending time outdoors – hiking, running and exploring new places with family and friends. I love to read, listen to live music and make home cooked meals. I also enjoy staying current on the most recent anesthesia research and spend a great deal of time researching new topics in anesthesia and reading professional journal articles.
