About
Philosophy of care
I emphasize on the preventive aspects of medicine. Choosing a healthy lifestyle – which includes good eating habits, being physically active and maintaining a positive outlook on life — are each equally important in preventing disease and promoting good health. I believe in integrative and holistic medicine and also strive to keep treatment plans individualized to meet the needs of each patient and his family.
Why I entered medicine
I always wanted to positively influence the health and well-being of our children. The ability to make a difference in a child’s life on a personal level appealed to me. The lasting relationships with my patients as they grow into young adults gives me a sense of great fulfillment.
Community involvement
Being able to pay back to my community means a lot to me. I was instrumental in starting a fund raising event "Volley for Kids" in Berks County where I lived before I moved into this area. This was an initiative on behalf of "Aaron’s Acres," a well-known foundation helping to organize summer camps for children with special needs. I have also contributed to organizations in India – notably the SOS Children's Villages, and LKS –which worked towards organizing free eye surgeries for the poor. Another very rewarding way to pay back for me has been in the way of teaching young medical students and motivating them to achieve the goals they have set for themselves.
Personal interests
I enjoy spending time with my husband and family. My children are grown up now and I take pride in their achievements as well. My daughter and son in-law are both physicians and my son is on his way to becoming a dentist. I love to cook and also enjoy reading and traveling.
