About
Philosophy of care
My philosophy of care is a three-tiered approach: tending to the patient as a unique, soulful individual; respect for the team caring for the patient as paramount to the well-being of the patient; and a commitment to life-long learning. We are all different people and must be treated as such in all aspects of care, from cellular to spiritual levels. All members of the collaborative care team tending to our patients and families are vital components of the patient’s success and must be treated with dignity and respect. Finally, the world of medicine is ever-changing, and we must be willing, capable and disciplined enough to keep up with those changes.
Why I entered medicine
I entered the nursing profession because I wanted to dedicate my life to the service of others and to the pursuit of life-long learning – a fulfilling and rewarding endeavor.
Community involvement
I am involved with SWAN: Scaling Walls a Note at a Time. This organization, based in Lancaster, gets children with an incarcerated parent interested in music.
Personal interests
Alternative medicine, theater, music and travel (foreign and domestic) occupy much of my free time.
