About
Philosophy of care
I am dedicated to using all the skills at my disposal to provide care for my patients and their families.
Why I entered medicine
My first look into medicine was through the eyes of a caretaker for my mother. I distinctly remember how important it was to me that my mom’s clinicians involved me in her care. In glaucoma practice it is especially important to involve family, because the patient is often elderly or with such poor vision they depend on others for transportation or even health care decision-making. This is an aspect of medicine that I strive to keep at the forefront of my practice today – how critical it is to involve and treat not just the patient, but their family as well.
Community involvement
I am an active member of the American Glaucoma Society, American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Minority Ophthalmology Mentoring program, where I dedicate my time to helping the future class of ophthalmologists reach their goals. I am an active member of the Pennsylvania Academy of Ophthalmology’s Young Ophthalmologist Committee, where we support legislature for our patient's benefit and rising young ophthalmologists.
Personal interests
In my downtime I like to spend time with family and friends, hike and read.
