About

Philosophy of care

My philosophy of care is educationally based. I desire to have each patient understand their problem, to know what the real concerns are and what we can do together to solve them. Periodontal disease and tooth loss have a negative effect on the entire body. In fact, the inflammatory burden of periodontal disease is directly connected to an increased risk of heart attack and stroke. I want every patient to feel that I heard their concerns and that I explained everything clearly to them. When patients leave our office, we want them to be informed, feel cared for and know we are genuinely concerned about them. I developed the following mission statement when I began my private practice, and I make every effort daily to live up to these standards of care: To provide the highest quality periodontal and dental implant care through the commitment of the doctor who: *Incorporates the latest technological advancements to optimize patient comfort and satisfaction *Participates in continuing education programs to maintain up-to-date professional practices *Employs the most efficient, knowledgeable and empathetic staff to serve patients diligently *Shares information with referring doctors, enabling the best patient results

Community involvement

Community involvement is paramount to who I am. I was an Eagle Scout at the age of 13, and those values are still with me today. I have been actively involved in The First Presbyterian Church of Allentown for 23 years, and I cook at Daybreak for the Lehigh County Conference of Churches. I am a dental provider for Dentistry from the Heart, and I have been a volunteer periodontist in the dental clinic at Lehigh Valley Hospital-17th Street for the past 20 years. I have been awarded Teacher of the Year three times. I am also the current president of the Lehigh County Senior Center, where we strive to meet the needs of the seniors in the Lehigh Valley. I am the business manager for the Montgomery Bucks Dental Society.

Personal interests

I enjoy spending much of my spare time working on my farm, gardening and taking care of the sheep, goats, donkeys and my daughter's horse. I also enjoy cooking and sharing meals with family and friends.
