About
Philosophy of care
I treat you with the same respect, dignity and superior care I would expect for myself or a family member. In the hospital, I see patients at their worst both physically and mentally. I strive to have compassion and understanding for the physical and emotional well-being of each one. My patients have diverse backgrounds, but the quality of care must remain equal.
Why I entered medicine
I knew I wanted to work in the medical field since age of 10. As a young child, I was exposed to chronic illness and critical care medicine on behalf of my younger brother, who was born premature and passed away at 14 months. The doctors and nurses had taken the time to include me in teaching my parents how to manage his vital medical equipment. At age 19, I became a registered nurse, working mostly in critical care before returning to school for my advanced degree. I became board certified in both critical care and family practice medicine.
Community involvement
I have volunteered at a local health care clinic for people experiencing homelessness.
Personal interests
I have a small child I enjoy watching grow and learn. I love helping at his school and watching his T-ball games. I have two dogs, an English mastiff and a Labrador retriever. We love including them when walking, hiking, fishing and going to the beach. When I have free time, I like to read, sew, and do craft projects.
