About

Philosophy of care

Providing care is about doing what is right, advocating for my patients, and remembering that each person deserves access to the same quality of care without regard to race, ethnicity, gender, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation or citizenship. I believe in valuing people as individuals with a definition of well-being unique to each person. The care I provide reflects how I would want my own friends and family to be treated.

Why I entered medicine

Growing up in a low-income area, I witnessed inequities that solidified my desire to work in a field where I could help those needing it most. I also knew I wanted an intellectually stimulating career. Initially, I aspired to become an astrobiologist, but soon realized the practice of medicine offered a way to combine both my goals – helping people and being challenged.

Personal interests

In my spare time I enjoy food, travel, exercise, animals and music.
