About

Philosophy of care

I believe that each woman is unique and should be involved with her care. She is not just her diagnosis - you must include her beliefs and wishes. Also paramount to care is the involvement of her support system - spouse, partner, family, friends.

Why I entered medicine

I have always wanted to be a nurse, and we have the family photos to prove it! I volunteered at a local hospital and chose that hospital because you could start volunteering a year earlier than most. I had always wanted to be a pediatric nurse but after taking obstetric nursing classes in my junior year, I could not think of anything else. I enjoyed caring for the mother, the baby and the family as a whole. I started in the newborn nursery and postpartum as a graduate nurse, and I quickly realized that I love caring for moms who have high risk pregnancies. I was fortunate enough to be a founding RN of the high risk perinatal unit at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Cedar Crest, and those experiences spurred my interest to continue my education. Becoming a perinatal nurse practitioner and having the opportunity to work with these special women and their families is extremely fulfilling.

Community involvement

I am a parish nurse and a Girl Scout volunteer.

I enjoy family time and scrapbooking.
