About

Philosophy of care

While practicing evidence-based medicine, I learn the needs of my patients and involve them in decision making. I offer options so patients feel in charge of their own health and are more invested in treatment direction and outcome. My goal is to immediately establish and develop a trusting relationship with patients and their families.

Why I entered medicine

I have always wanted to be a doctor. My childhood play involved doctors and hospitals, where I would care for “sick” dolls and stuffed animals. During grade school I enjoyed science and tried herbal medicines on my family members. I felt great satisfaction when my herbal tea remedies made them feel better. As a high school student, I found a program that allowed early college attendance where I was able to study medicine.

Community involvement

I support church charity, volunteering at my daughter's school and medical missionary trips.

Personal interests

I like cooking, reading, traveling and spending time with my family and dog.
