A second opinion is when you seek the opinion of a doctor or surgeon in addition to your current doctor or surgeon that provided your original diagnosis and treatment plan. The second doctor or surgeon reviews your medical records and provides you with their opinion about your diagnosis and treatment. This opinion may be the same or different from your original diagnosis.

Second opinion appointments are only for new patients to the practice. If you are a current patient with questions about your care, including your diagnosis or treatment options, your care team will be happy to discuss them with you.

What to expect from a second opinion appointment:

    • May confirm a diagnosis
    • Explore all treatment options, including treatments or procedures that may not be widely available
    • Discuss what treatment or care plan is the best fit for you
    • Ensure you're confident in the approach and expertise of your care team
