SummaryResponsible for coordinating the daily operations of the assigned Patient Access areas. This person will have a variety of administrative and leadership tasks.
Job Duties
- Coordinates and provides training and in-services for scheduling staff for all new release updates and process changes.
- Ensures schedule changes are implemented and collaborates with representatives to make the necessary changes, if necessary.
- Utilizes scheduling software and other supporting software applications to enhance productivity and efficiencies.
- Works proactively to adjust daily staff work assignments due to sick leave or increased patient volume.
- Acts as a lead resource to other colleagues and assists with the development of the staff assignment schedules.
- Cross-trains on other jobs to ensure that there is sufficient coverage.
- Utilizes multiple on line order retrieval systems to verify or print the patient's order.
- Investigates and resolves patient, technical, and work flow problems to ensure operations are optimized.
- Coordinates escalations on behalf of patient or practice.
Minimum Qualifications- High School Diploma/GED
- 1 year in a healthcare environment or in a front-line leadership role.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities.
- Knowledge of diagnostic tests and procedures or physician office scheduling protocols and practices.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, technology, and software applications.
Preferred Qualifications- Associate’s Degree or
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
