Summary

Responsible for the development and growth of a centralized Patient Logistics Center. This position provides oversight of capacity management and patient transfers from inside and outside of the organization as well as the development and growth of further services as dictated by system initiatives. This role is charged with creating and supporting exceptional patient access and service, physician and staff satisfaction, seamless and efficient referral management capabilities, growth and volume management, technology advancement, and strong financial performance. The position will deliver results against a defined scope of work that includes return on investment, strategic innovation, and human capital development.

Job Duties

  • Drive core transformation efforts in the establishment of a patient-centric central access model and assist with the development and implementation of a patient logistics center strategy that will address the requirements of a rapidly changing business environment.
  • Create and manage external relationships with internal and external partners to extend the use of the command center, and other services that promote and extend these relationships.
  • Collaborate with leaders and providers as well as referring providers to design processes and workflows that improve access to care for patients; builds positive and effective relationships with all constituencies across the health system, enhance the patient experience and identify and resolve operational performance issues.
  • Ensure that executives and key stakeholders receive appropriate updates and notification of potential business risks by providing and maintaining standardized reporting of metrics, statistics, accomplishments, priorities and issues.
  • Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.
  • Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree BSN
  • 7 years patient logistics or bed management setting
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the demonstrated ability to gain the confidence, respect and trust of staff, senior executives and direct/indirect reports.
  • Proven change agent who understands systems engineering and the use of data analytics to drive operational, quality, and financial levers to positively affect results.
  • RN - Licensed Registered Nurse_PA - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire

Physical Demands

Lift and carry 25 lbs. frequent sitting/standing, frequent keyboard use, *patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
