Summary

Develops, directs, evaluates, and executes a corporate-wide comprehensive occupational safety management and regulatory compliance program for the health network. Serves as principal adviser to senior administration concerning occupational safety management, regulatory compliance, and best practices in Environmental, Health & Safety. Serves as an organizational liaison to regulatory authorities including, but not limited to, OSHA, The Joint Commission, Pennsylvania Department of Health, PA Division of Labor & Industry, and the PA Bureau of Workers Compensation, etc.

Job Duties

  • Oversees the Occupational Safety Management Department which includes continuous improvement of daily operations, development, and oversight of the department operating and capital budgets and resolution of all personnel issues.
  • Develops, reviews, and revises corporate safety and health policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Develops and implements training programs to ensure corporate-wide occupational safety and regulatory compliance needs are addressed.
  • Performs safety and occupational health evaluations.
  • Obtains or provides analytical measurements and documents the magnitude of actual or potential exposure to personnel.
  • Ensures that the health network maintains regulatory compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, guidelines, and standards.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Nursing, Occupational Safety Management, Industrial Hygiene, Public Health, or a related field
  • 3 years Occupational safety, health management, and regulatory compliance.
  • Leadership, analytical, interpretive, and decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge of performance improvement development programs including patient satisfaction and Patient-Centered Experience.
  • Knowledge of clinical and industrial safety management, program development, conflict resolution, strategic planning, and healthcare operations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • CIH - Certified Industrial Hygienist - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire or
  • Certified Hazard Control Manager - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire or
  • CHSP - Certified Healthcare Safety Professional - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire or
  • COHN - Certified Occupational Health Nurse ABOHNI - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire or
  • COHN-S-Cert Occupational Health Nurse Spec ABOHNI - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Nursing, Occupational Safety Management, Industrial Hygiene, Public Health, or a related field
  • 5 years Occupational safety, health management, and regulatory compliance.
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health Manager (OHM) proprietary database.
  • CHSP - Certified Healthcare Safety Professional - State of Pennsylvania within 1 Year

Physical Demands

Lift and carry 25 lbs. frequent sitting/standing, frequent keyboard use, *patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
