Summary

The Manager of Capacity Command Center Operations is responsible for daily operational, process, and performance management of the enterprise-wide Capacity Command Center. Specifically, the Manager will collaborate with colleagues and leaders from medicine, nursing, patient logistics, case management, utilization review, environmental services, emergency communications, emergency medical services, and operations across all campuses on a daily basis to optimize and coordinate patient care. This includes oversight of patient logistics staff, including bed management, transfer center, and patient transport staff. This position also has responsibility for hospital capacity monitoring and root-cause analysis of problems to drive real-time interventions and solutions and to facilitate safe, efficient, and quality patient care throughout the system. The Manager will have an integral role in the oversight and strategy development of the Capacity Command Center, focusing both on daily operations and ongoing performance improvement and quality assurance.

Job Duties

  • Responsible for providing leadership to, and direct oversight of, patient logistics colleagues.
  • Expedite, prioritize, synchronize, and mediate issues or barriers related to patient throughput, serving as an escalation point for problem resolution.
  • Continually work to improve operating mechanisms within the Command Center and foster collaboration and issue resolution amongst the multidisciplinary teams within the center.
  • Identify process improvement strategies to improve patient flow, system balance, and management of surge volumes.
  • Represent the capacity command center in campus operations huddles and lead system capacity huddles as needed.
  • Provides a visible, professional leadership presence for the capacity command center by partnering with leadership from the inter-professional teams to collaboratively foster a positive, team-based work environment.
  • Manage additional projects as they relate to patient throughput and hospital operations.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree Nursing, Management, Business administration, Healthcare or Public Administration, Public Health, Social Work, or a related field.
  • 3 years nursing. and
  • 2 years experience in healthcare supervision, administration, or hospital operations.
  • demonstrated creative problem solving with ability to synthesize evidence based best practice in a variety of settings.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-driven leader with high level of interpersonal, problem solving, and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate and lead work groups and projects.
  • Familiarity with the Microsoft Office product Suite, including Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support - State of Pennsylvania
  • RN - Licensed Registered Nurse_PA - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree Nursing, Management, Business administration, Healthcare or Public Administration, Public Health, Social Work, or a related field.
  • proficiency with Epic and demonstrated comfort with technology utilized throughout the patient care processes.

Physical Demands
