SummaryCoordinates pediatric trauma performance activities to ensure institutional compliance with standards. Assists in clinical guideline development, outcome measurement, and research.
Job Duties
- Teaches pediatric components of the trauma nurse course and participates in integrating pediatric educational topics into educational offerings.
- Provides leadership for guideline development, revision, and outcome analysis in pediatric trauma patients and assists with adult trauma guideline development.
- Provides follow-up to institutions transferring pediatric trauma patients.
- Performs trauma registry queries to assist in performance improvement and research efforts of the trauma program.
- Provides education on the local, state, and national level regarding pediatric trauma care.
- Coordinates concurrent and retrospective performance improvement reviews on pediatric trauma patients.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor’s Degree Nursing
- 3 years Field of trauma and pediatrics within a trauma center.
- Basic computer skills including word processing.
- Good understanding of performance improvement measurement.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills.
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire

Physical DemandsLift and carry 25 lbs. frequent sitting/standing, frequent keyboard use, *patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
