Summary

Partners with providers and administrative staff to support LVHN Risk Adjustment initiatives. Leverages technology to convey diagnostic coding opportunities and compliance concepts to clinicians. Educates staff and providers on diagnostic documentation principles and assists in communicating program metrics through dashboards and various reports.

Job Duties

  • Reviews EHR and claim data in an effort to prepare provider with this information for upcoming patient visits. Provides clinician with potential opportunities and/or suggestions for the provider's consideration at the time of patient visit.
  • Leverages knowledge of CMS and HHS HCC models and artificial intelligence (AI) technology to prepare recommendations for upcoming visits.
  • Maintains current knowledge of industry HCC guidelines, coding compliance, and best practices.
  • Assists in the development of content for one-on-one and group education to clinicians and other healthcare colleagues.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate’s Degree in a Healthcare related field or
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 2 years Acute care coding or CDI experience.
  • Demonstrates thorough understanding of risk adjustment methodology (CMS and HHS).
  • Demonstrates strong knowledge of disease processes and pathophysiology.
  • Knowledge of EMR, Windows, and MS Office applications (Word/Excel/Access).
  • Strong analytical and investigative skills.
  • CCA - Certified Coding Associate AHIMA - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire
  • CRC - Certified Risk Adjustment Coder - State of Pennsylvania within 1 Year
  • CCS - Certified Coding Specialist AHIMA - State of Pennsylvania
  • CCS-P - Certified Coding Specialist-Physician Based AHIMA - State of Pennsylvania
  • CPC - Certified Professional Coder - State of Pennsylvania
  • CPC-H-Certified Professional Coder-Hospital AAPC - State of Pennsylvania

Physical Demands

Lift and carry 7 lbs., continuous sitting >67%, frequent keyboard use/repetitive motion, frequent fine motor activity/wrist position deviation.
