Summary
Publicizes and protects the brand through proactive and responsive media and public relations. Develops relationships with media and online influencers to grow coverage. Assumes an integral role in helping to manage and message crisis communications as part of the issues management team. Serves as the key overseer of earned media metrics and outcomes by working closely with our analytics vendor to track and report successes and pursue opportunities. Prepares communication plans with key messages and implements tactics such as media statements and releases, press conferences, social media posts and responses, internal communications pieces, blog posts, op-eds, talking points, FAQs and more. Works closely with the Manager of Media Relations as a network spokesperson.
Job Duties
- Publicizes and protects the brand through proactive and responsive media and public relations.
- Serves as senior contributor for growing database of media contacts and influencers and developing strong relationships to increase coverage locally and nationally.
- Prepares communication plans with key messages. Implements tactics such as media releases and statements, press conferences, internal communication pieces, social media posts and responses, blog posts, op-eds, talking points, FAQs and more.
- Serves as a senior contributor to message and manage crisis communications as a member of the issues management team.
- Serves as a network spokesperson and prepares LVHN experts for media interviews.
- Identifies newsjacking opportunities and trends to leverage LVHN expertise.
- Serves as a senior writer and creative storyteller, participating as a member of the content team.
- Analyzes media data and adjusts strategy based on findings. Demonstrates proficiency in media databases and analytics tools.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Communications or related field
- 5 years experience in Communications and Marketing with proven success in developing partnerships and relationships in the community, cultivating proactive media stories, and crafting strategic internal/external communications. and
- 2 years experience in media relations. Preference for journalism background.
- Ability to develop and grow media relationships and opportunities.
- Ability to write proficiently and tell compelling stories.
- Ability to think and act quickly in times of crisis and pivot as situations evolve.
- Ability to think analytically and work with and adjust measurement tools to fit needs.
