Emergency Room at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest

NOW OPEN

New ER. Now Open.

The all new emergency room at Lehigh Valley Hospital (LVH)–Cedar Crest is now open.

The new expansive 130,000 square foot facility at Lehigh Valley Hospital–Cedar Crest is so much more than an ER. But what does that mean for you? When seconds matter, it means less waiting, the most advanced technology and better care – in one place.

Less waiting

With double the number of private rooms, care will be delivered quicker than ever before. There’s even a 35-bed observation unit just for people who don’t require a hospital stay but need additional care. For critical cases, a three-bay trauma center with a dedicated procedure room is right there in the ER. When seconds matter, there’s no need to be taken to another unit. Everything you need is right there.

Better care

The facility isn’t just larger, it’s reimagined. It’s built with a flexible, efficient, modular design that allows observation beds to be used for the emergency department or to accommodate inpatients during a patient surge at the hospital.

The facility is outfitted with updated technology to facilitate communication between providers, patients and families while ensuring patient privacy and better adapting care to new realities of the COVID-19 pandemic.

More services

More acute care services are now available to diagnose and treat ill and injured people:

  • A radiology infrastructure with MRI
  • CT scan and X-ray capabilities
  • Two helipads for air transport
  • Physical therapy facilities
  • A dedicated on-site laboratory
  • A trauma center with its own procedure room
  • Acute psychiatric and behavioral health care
  • Transesophageal echocardiograms
