- Centro del Corazón Hispanic Heart Program
If you are of Hispanic descent, Lehigh Valley Heart and Vascular Institute is helping to ensure you have access to excellent heart care through Centro del Corazon. We started this program because people of Hispanic descent have disproportionately high rates of certain risk factors for cardiovascular disease and Centro del Corazon can help turn the tide.
Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in the U.S. and rates of cardiovascular disease and risk factors are expected to increase significantly in the coming decades.
The American College of Cardiology notes cardiovascular disease is expected to become more common among Black and Hispanic populations.
Through Centro del Corazón, our Hispanic Heart Program, we’re focused on preventive heart care, including reducing risk factors, as a key to good heart health.
Prime heart disease risk factors for Hispanics include:
- High blood pressure
- High cholesterol
- Diabetes
- Diet
- Smoking
We’re here for the growing Hispanic population throughout the region and are taking a proactive, preventive health approach to help minimize heart disease risk factors. We’re raising the bar for your heart health.
