As people age, their health care needs may change. The geriatrics program at Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) provides primary care to patients aged 65 and older who have at least three medical issues. This patient population has more complex medical needs, often requiring the high level of care that has become our standard.
Our geriatrics program
Our board-certified geriatricians establish a strong relationship with older adults while they provide age-appropriate physical and mental assessments. They also pay close attention to medications to make sure medicines meant to help one concern aren’t creating another.
Our geriatric providers have specialized training to treat the unique needs of seniors, including care for conditions like:
- Alzheimer’s disease
- Arthritis (osteoarthritis)
- Dementia
- Diabetes
- Heart disease
- High blood pressure
- Osteoporosis
You or your loved one can also see our geriatrics program’s advanced practice clinicians, who seamlessly deliver care under the direction of our geriatricians.
