Neuro-ophthalmologists diagnose and treat a variety of conditions, including but not limited to:
- Optic neuritis from disorders such as multiple sclerosis
- Ischemic optic neuropathy
- Optic nerve edema (swelling)
- Retinal strokes, including central retinal artery occlusion
- Vision loss related to other neurologic conditions like migraine, stroke, seizures and dementia

- Eye misalignment (strabismus)

- Idiopathic intracranial hypertension (formerly pseudotumor cerebri)
- Ocular myasthenia gravis
