It’s important for children to receive proper amounts of nutrition every day. Unfortunately, issues affecting your child’s ability to eat and drink may prevent this from happening.
At Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN), we partner with your family to identify the source of your child’s feeding issue and develop a personalized care plan that helps your child grow and thrive.
Help for feeding issues affecting children
Our feeding specialists help children with a variety of issues. Your child may benefit from the feeding program if they:
- Spit out food
- Gag, retch or vomit during meals
- Have difficulty breast or bottle feeding
- Refuse meals
- Have problems eating foods that are a certain texture
Dedicated team of feeding specialists
Our feeding therapy program includes expert care from professionals in speech-language pathology and occupational therapy. Our feeding specialists also receive additional training to work with children since kids have needs that are much different from adults.
Family participation
Your child’s care doesn’t stop after you leave LVHN. We teach you how to participate in your child’s feeding therapy so you can help them practice newly learned skills at home.
