On a beautiful day, 250 golfers played all three courses at Saucon Valley Country Club, the host of five upcoming USGA championships. Together, golfers and the 50 event sponsors raised more than $400,000 for the Institute for Surgical Excellence. Brian A. Nester, DO, MBA, LVHN President and Chief Executive Officer, thanked everyone for their support, which will help recruit the best and brightest surgeons; expand patient access to services; leverage technology and innovation to improve surgical outcomes; strengthen academic programs; and conduct leading research. Nester also encouraged guests to mark their calendars for the 31st Annual LVHN Golf Classic on June 3, 2024, at Saucon Valley Country Club.
Michael Pasquale, MD, Physician in Chief, Lehigh Valley Institute for Surgical Excellence, and Chair, Department of Surgery, spoke to the importance of bringing care closer to home – citing LVHN’s recent expansion of robotic-assisted knee replacement surgery to Dickson City, Hazleton and Stroudsburg. “The goal is to provide the best possible surgical care in the communities so residents don’t have to leave for treatment,” he said. “We offer more types of surgical procedures than any of our competitors, and we do more surgeries than anyone else. I’m a firm believer that the more you do, the better you are. Through an ongoing focus on quality and value, we can be the go-to destination for all surgical services, no matter where you live.”
