As the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) releases new guidance on face mask usage based on community levels of COVID-19, it’s important to note that these updates don’t impact the precautions taken by hospitals or health care organizations. The CDC states that hospitals and health care facilities should continue to follow the CDC’s infection prevention and control recommendations, which include the use of face masks by patients, visitors and health care personnel.
As part of our commitment to keeping our patients, colleagues and community safe, we want to remind you of two very important policies that are still in effect at all LVHN facilities:
- All patients, visitors and colleagues are required to wear a mask (fully covering their mouth and nose) in LVHN and Coordinated Health hospitals and health care settings, regardless of vaccination status.
- Visitors who are experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19 infection or other illness are not permitted to visit patients. If you are sick, please protect your loved one and stay home.
