Anthony (Tony) Falvello, DO, grew up in Hazleton, where five generations of his family have lived.
After training as an orthopedic surgeon, he practiced there for nine years. Then, a career opportunity took him to Connecticut, and soon he became adept at robotic joint replacement techniques. Falvello’s hometown was never far from his thoughts, however. In July, he returned to his roots, joining LVPG Orthopedics and Sports Medicine–Station Circle in Hazleton.
In October, Falvello also started seeing patients at the Health Center at Carbon.
“I am committed to bringing the best possible orthopedic care to the area,” Falvello says. “For the first time, robotic knee replacement is available at Lehigh Valley Hospital–Hazleton.”
Using the VELYS robot has distinct advantages. “It allows us to align the knee replacement to a patient’s specific anatomy in a very reproducible way,” Falvello says. “That provides a much more consistent result as well as a faster recovery. We have found that patients are more satisfied and report that it feels more like their natural knee.”
